Welcome to Coop Centraal. This is no ordinary supermarket. Here, you don't just buy your groceries, you become part of something bigger. Our members decide together on the direction of the shop.
Everyone doing their bit, we can lower prices, help people in need and do something for the planet.
As a member, you work three hours a month in the shop. This allows us to save on labour costs and keep prices low. Those few hours fly by! You get to meet new people, discover honest and delicious products, and help build a shop that really makes a difference.

What will we achieve by doing this?
working together to build a community
Everyone goes shopping, but often we don't know anyone in the shop. In ordinary supermarkets, you are alone, but at Coop Centraal, you are part of something bigger. Together, we are building a shop that is also a place to meet each other.
Fair, but competitive prices
Because we run the shop together, our costs remain low. On average, 80% of what you pay goes to the producer or supplier, with the rest going to Coop Centraal. This allows us to remain affordable, even for organic products.
people not profit
At Coop Central, it's not about profit, it's about people. We decide together what is important for our shop. If anything is left over, we invest it back into society.
Solidarity and climate change
25% of global emissions are caused by food. At the same time, it is difficult for many people to get food on the shelf at the end of the month. Supermarkets are therefore in a unique position because they can play a direct role in both the climate crisis and in promoting equal opportunities. Coop Central is a project of people who want their supermarket not to ignore these challenges but to grab them with both hands. Together we will find what role our small shop can play and we need your help to do so!
